NOMUS – New Art Museum, a branch of the National Museum in Gdańsk, is located at 14 Jaracza Street, in the Young City (Młode Miasto) district, close to the former Gdańsk Shipyard, the European Solidarity Centre and the historic Gate No. 2 of the Gdańsk Shipyard.
On foot
NOMUS is within easy walking distance of Gdańsk city centre.
- from the European Solidarity Centre – approximately 10 minutes,
- from Gdańsk Główny railway station – approximately 15 minutes,
- from Gate No. 2 of the Gdańsk Shipyard – approximately 10 minutes.
The walk takes you through a rapidly developing part of the city, with numerous examples of contemporary architecture and post-industrial spaces.
By train – SKM, POLREGIO and PKP Intercity
The nearest main railway station is Gdańsk Główny, approximately a 15-minute walk from the museum.
Alternatively, you can get off at Gdańsk Stocznia SKM station, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from NOMUS.
By tram
The nearest tram stops are Plac Solidarności and Dworzec Główny, served by numerous tram lines connecting this area with different parts of Gdańsk.
The museum is approximately a 10–15-minute walk from either stop.
By bus
The most convenient bus stops are Dworzec Główny, Plac Solidarności and Wałowa, all within a short walk of the museum.
Visitors using public transport can also transfer to a tram or walk to the museum from the city centre.
By car
Public parking spaces are available near the museum, with additional car parks located within the Young City (Młode Miasto) area and around Wałowa Street. As this part of Gdańsk is undergoing significant development, temporary changes to traffic arrangements may occur. We therefore recommend planning your journey in advance.
By bicycle
NOMUS can be reached via the city’s cycle routes connecting the city centre with the former shipyard areas. Bicycle racks and MEVO bike-sharing stations are available near the museum.
Good to know
A visit to NOMUS can easily be combined with a visit to the European Solidarity Centre, a walk around the former Gdańsk Shipyard, a stop at the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers of 1970, or a walk along the Motława River. Located in the heart of the Young City (Młode Miasto), the museum is an excellent starting point for discovering contemporary Gdańsk and exploring the city’s industrial heritage.
